ENGAGE, INVOLVE, LEARN, INTERACT
Four fundamental
words upon which all knowledge is founded and why the EILI Network came
into being.
The EILI Network is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that intends to
establish a digital communications network linking students, parents,
teachers and communities using the Internet, radio, television, digital
storage devices and print. It will provide services and programs locally,
regionally, nationally and internationally.
The organization believes that a student needs to be engaged by something
that is of importance to his or her life. Once engaged, the student can
become involved. When engaged and involved, optimum learning can take
place for the individual. Then the individual is able to interact in meaningful
ways with fellow students, family and the community in which they live
in.
Mission
Engage a person's heart and mind with an essential question and that question
will have the power to involve. Involvement is the foundation of learning
and growth. It is also a seed bed that grows and nurtures the desire to
share knowledge and the advance of human and science-based issues.
A Digital Network Like No Other, Mixing People, Ideas & Issues
This
dynamic knowledge exchange is being built on a foundation of digital media
operating collaborative relationships between government agencies, business
and educational entities. Similar to a radio or television network, it
disseminates multimedia information on a global basis. Information is
delivered using Web broadcasts and a variety of storage media.
This is a distance and distributed learning network focusing on fundamental
issues of importance for humankind. All information is exchanged in multimedia
formats using digital media, including pictures, print, video, and audio.
Media formats will include web conferencing, writable DVDs and CD ROMs,
virtual tours, interactive television and low-frequency radio.
The EILI Network will serve as a repository of studies and reports, experiments
and inventions connecting students, educators and communities worldwide.
It will also serve as a center of innovation for student-initiated undertakings
and as a provider of ongoing professional development and continuing education
opportunities.
