The EILI Network has released a demonstration for its guided and interactive, on-demand learning platform, The Complete Story. The demonstration can be located at http://admin.broadbandvideo.com/linkpage/complete_story1.htm. The 14-minute demonstration uses different media, including video, audio, text and graphics. It also features an example of a testing module, synchronous copy summaries and an indexing tool (inactive for this demonstration) that will allow users to rapidly obtain media they wish to have. The sample video component that has been used involves a show about science literacy that was produced in 1998 by EILI CEO Glenn Meyers in conjunction with Tele-Communications, Inc., once the world's largest cable television company, and the National School Conference Institute in Phoenix, AZ. Work on developing
the demonstration was done in partnership with BroadbandVideo "What this platform offers potential users is a dynamic and low-cost broadcast platform using a variety of digital media that people have come to expect in this century," said Meyers. "What's most appealing about this product is that it has a significant amount of guidance to it and it's not one directional or text-heavy like the majority of information we currently see on the Internet." The Complete Story was developed by Meyers, in conjunction with Jock Mirow, one of the owners of BroadbandVideo. "There are many applications for streaming across a myriad of industries, including business, government, education, training, television and radio," Mirow points out. BroadbandVideo's clients include numerous city governments that have begun using streaming video as a way to distribute information. The EILI
Network will use The Complete Story in work it undertakes with students
and educators. It is also in the process of developing the EILI Academy
for Professional Development & Continuing Education, a training entity
that will provide services to educators, school districts and businesses.
Initial information on the Academy is available on the "Training"
